As the history turns to the 21st century, this is my greatest pleasure to see the founding of the World Sport Fishing Federation, and warmly welcome the members and all fishing loving people into our community. By the opening of this Internet site, I wish the World Sport Fishing Federation be widely known to the world.

I would like to share with you, the members of national board and all the anglers, what I hope to achieve in my capacity through World Sport Fishing Federation.

First of all, as a celebration of entire world fishing loving population, I wish to continue the Fishing World Cup through the 2nd and the 3rd, expanding it to accommodate a larger number of national teams, so as to serve as a tool for a development of worldwide fishing culture.

Secondly, with a close contact among the officials of national board, I hope to introduce the Internet system into the fishing tournament, and thus organize the Fishing World Cup with the participation through the Internet in the earliest possible occasion.

Finally, let us make World Sport Fishing Federation not only the instrument for the development of fishing culture, but also the organization that will leave a historic trace toward the world peace and unification in this age of global human village.

In order to have this grand dreams come true, I call upon your warm support and cooperation.

>>> Introduction of the President

Mr. Tae Geun Yoon who serves as the first President of World Sport Fishing Federation was bone in the city of Bo-Han, Kyong-san-buk-do of Korea.
While working as a director of Jeju International Training Center located in the seaside town of Nam-won in Jeju Island, he was much interested in the marine industry, one of the economic foundation of this island province.
As a senior board member of Asia Forum Inc., a fish farming and freezer storage company, he had an extensive research on the global development of marine industries.
He experienced on the key role of the exploration of oceanic resources in resolving the world food problems, the importance of sport fishing as a healthy leisure industry and its local specificity in the various parts of the world.

While the President Yoon strove to establish various levels of fishing organizations within Jeju and to actively promote the fishing culture, he was elected as the 9th Chairman of the Korea Fishing Federation (aggregate corporation) in June 1999. Serving for the largest fishing organization in Korea with 4-million membership, he organized, between December 1999 and present, a variety of domestic fishing tournament and national selection tournament to form a Korean national team. The first Asia Ocean Fishing Championship Tournament was held in Wang-do of Korea between the 7th and the 10th of October 1999 by inviting national teams from 8 Asian countries, during which the Asia Sport Fishing Federation was also established, and Mr. Yoon was elected the first president of the Federation.

He also was successful to organize the first Sport Fishing World Champion Cup that was held at Hirado of Nagasaki in Japan, in October 2001. Through these events, he pushed forward to achieve a wide recognition of the sport fishing as a legitimate sport game and to offer the opportunity to improve the fishing skills as well as to deepen the cultural exchange through the hosting of international tournaments.
At the same time, he enabled the establishment of the World Sport Fishing Federation that may be the major instrument to regularize the Fishing World Cup.

His effort to pioneer the road to a new worldwide development of fishing culture within such a short period of time has won a wide esteem round the glove.
