The Freshwater Fishing Tournament were played among 78 contestants at Linko Fishing Pond within Taipei City. In the Preliminary Match, all the top two positions of 10 tournament groups were carried by the Taiwanese players. Next to Taiwan, Korean team had 5 contestants (김희수, 민용철, 이찬우, 김상고,서원종) who demonstrated an excellent adjustability remain through the Semifinals. Japanese team which came with mostly master anglers had one in the Seimfinal, while China and Macao had two each.
However, the players who remained through the Final Match were all Taiwanese.
YANG, JU-CHUAN(楊濟筌) climbed to the top in this category, followed by CHEN, SHIH-MING(陳志明) in the 2nd place and PENG, HAM-HSIUNG(彭漢雄) as the 3rd.
